This project has been realized in the framework of But if not, not, proposed by the Academy AKV/ St.Joost Holland and the independent association of Barcelona, La Pinta. 12 artists MA Fine Art AKV/ St. Joost The Netherlands and resident artists from Barcelona have been working together for 10 days. We presented the results of this intense experience during the Open Ateliers on Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Hangar and discussed them at the final presentation on Monday, April 14, 2008 in the Centre of Art Santa Monica.
In collaboration with Ronald Saeijs, we have developed this participatory project, based on drawings of maps of the inhabitants of working-class districts of Barcelona with the intention to give the visibility and reflect on the segregation of the city in terms of the general concept of social classes. First day we went to the neighbourhood called La Mina and ask people who were in the streets and in bars if they can draw a map of Barcelona highlighting only the neighbourhoods which are similar to where we were at that moment. The next day we moved across the city, in the neighbourhood called Zona Franca and repeat the action. The process was videotaped and presented along with the installation of the drawings.

Este proyecto ha sido realizado en el marco del proyecto But if not, not, impulsado por la Academia AKV/St.Joost de Holanda y la asociación independiente de Barcelona, la Pinta. 12 artistas del MA Fine Art Post St. Joost de Holanda y artistas residentes de Barcelona hemos estado trabajando conjuntamente durante 10 días. Los resultados de esta intensa experiencia hemos presentado durante los Talleres Abiertos el sábado 12 de Abril de 2008 en Hangar y discutido en la presentación final el lunes 14 de Abril de 2008 en el Centre d’Art Santa Mònica.

En colaboración con Ronald Saeijs, hemos desarrollado este proyecto participativo, basado en los dibujos de mapas de los habitantes de los barrios obreros de Barcelona con la intención de dar la visibilidad y reflexionar sobre la segregación de la ciudad en cuanto al concepto general de clases sociales. Primer día nos fuimos en el barrio Besòs y pedimos a las personas que encontramos en las calles y en los bares si nos pueden dibujar el mapa de Barcelona destacando solo los barrios semejantes al que nos encontrábamos en el momento. El día siguiente pasamos al otro lado de la ciudad, en la Zona Franca y repetimos la acción. El proceso fue grabado en vídeo y se presentó junto con la instalación de los dibujos.
